Peer Review Process
The journal employs the double-blind peer review process, where both reviewers and authors remain anonymous throughout the review process.
Every proposal submitted for publication is read at least by an editor, for an initial review. If the paper agrees with editorial policies and with a minimum quality level, is sent to two reviewers. The reviewers won’t know the author’s identity, as any identifying information will be stripped from the document before review.
Reviewers’ comments to the editors are confidential and before passing on to the author will made anonymous. Based on the reviewers’ comments, the Editorial Board makes a final decision on the acceptability of the manuscript, and communicates to the authors the decision, along with referees’ reports. Whether significant revisions are proposed, acceptance is dependent on whether the author can deal with those satisfactorily.
Peer Review Process
Direct Research Journal of Health and Pharmacology (DRJHP) is committed to maintaining a rigorous, fair, and constructive peer-review process designed to ensure the scientific quality and integrity of published articles.
All submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial screening to determine whether they are within the scope of the journal and meet the basic requirements for scholarly consideration. Manuscripts may be returned to authors at this stage where substantial deficiencies in presentation, scope, ethical compliance, or scientific quality are identified.
Manuscripts that pass the initial assessment are subjected to peer review by qualified experts in the relevant subject area. Reviewers evaluate manuscripts based on factors including:
- Originality and novelty;
- Scientific significance;
- Clarity of research objectives;
- Adequacy and appropriateness of the methodology;
- Validity and reliability of the results;
- Quality of data analysis and interpretation;
- Appropriate use of statistical methods;
- Relationship between results and conclusions;
- Adequacy and currency of the literature;
- Ethical considerations;
- Quality of presentation and academic writing; and
- Contribution to existing scientific knowledge.
Based on the reviewers' recommendations and the editor's assessment, a manuscript may be accepted, accepted subject to revision, returned for major revision, or rejected.
The journal's editorial objective is to communicate an initial decision to authors within approximately three weeks of submission. However, the actual review period may vary depending on reviewer availability, manuscript complexity, revision requirements, and other editorial considerations.
Following acceptance, manuscripts undergo final editorial and production checks before being scheduled for publication in the next available issue.
DRJHP aims to balance rapid publication with rigorous scholarly assessment, ensuring that efficiency does not compromise the quality, integrity, or credibility of the peer-review process.
