Abstract

Information and Communication Technology (ICT) significantly impacts nursing services by enhancing efficiency, improving patient care quality, and facilitating better communication and data management. This study investigates the utilization of information communication technology and its perceived effects on quality health care delivery services among nurses in Edo North. Employing a descriptive cross-sectional design, the study involved 250 nurses from six general hospitals. Data ICT tools, with a mean confidence score of 3.0, indicating readiness to integrate technology for improved patient care. EHRs are the most utilized ICT tool, with a mean agreement score of 2.6, highlighting their critical role in maintaining comprehensive patient records and enhancing healthcare delivery were gathered using questionnaires based on the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and the Relevance of TAM Model (RTM). Findings revealed that nurses exhibit positive attitudes towards. The lack of ICT use, especially in personalized care, has a mean negative impact score of 2.8, showing significant detriments to care quality without technology adoption. The primary barrier to ICT adoption is the lack of training (mean score of 3.0), emphasizing the need for comprehensive training programs to enhance technology utilization in healthcare.  The study's findings underscore the critical importance of Electronic Health Records (EHRs) in maintaining comprehensive patient information and enhancing overall care quality. However, significant barriers to ICT adoption, particularly the lack of adequate training, hinder its full integration into personalized patient care. The study highlights that younger nurses demonstrate greater readiness to adopt ICT tools compared to their older counterparts, suggesting a generational divide in technology acceptance.
